How to Ship Relief Cargo to Puerto Rico and the Caribbean

Two hurricanes have left residents of Puerto Rico and Caribbean Islands reeling and in need of emergency relief supplies.

Crowley has already moved over 2,000 government relief agency loads into the region and is working tirelessly in the ongoing efforts to position more relief cargo and supplies. We also know people want to help, so Crowley has developed special shipping rates and instructions for how you can send materials and supplies to family, friends, and others in need in Puerto Rico, the U.S. Virgin Islands, Anguilla, St. Maarten and Tortola. Here’s what you need to know:
  • We can receive your relief cargo and packages at various U.S. locations (listed below) and then assist with loading your goods into ocean shipping containers for transport.
  • All shipments must be pre-paid by credit card at the receiving locations.
  • Due to conditions at the Port of San Juan and the Virgin Islands, and the volume of other aid shipments, our vessel sailings may be varied, but please know that your cargo will sail as soon as possible.
  • To qualify for discounted shipping rates, the items must be for personal use – not for resale -and must go to an individual (consignee) with an address, phone number and email. We understand communications are difficult now, however, we must have a way to contact the receiving party when goods arrive at the destination.
  • Commercial customers, please know that we are also here to help you get your cargo to customers in these impacted areas.
